Additional Areas Of Support

These areas change depending on the cats’ needs, what is suitable, and what is most needed at the time. You can help by donating toward them, or by contacting us first if you have something you think may be useful.

BEDDING AND BLANKETS

We use bedding and blankets to give the cats warm, soft and secure places to sleep, rest and settle.

Some cats like soft blankets. Some prefer mats, towels, enclosed beds or raised resting places. Having a range of bedding helps us keep their spaces clean, comfortable and suited to what each cat needs.

We use soft, washable bedding in black, grey and white so the cats’ spaces stay warm, comfortable, clean and visually calm.

Because bedding needs change depending on the cats in our care, and because stock changes often, donations allow us to choose the right blankets, beds and washable bedding as needed.

TOYS AND PLAY

We use toys and play items to keep the cats active, curious and engaged.

Play helps the cats move, stretch, scratch, climb, chase, hide, explore and use their natural instincts. It also gives them stimulation, confidence and moments of joy throughout the day.

Because toys need to be safe, suitable and easy to clean, donations allow us to choose the right play items for the cats in our care.

Safe Play Items We Use

Wand toys and teaser toys
For supervised play, movement, chasing and interaction.

Scratchers and scratching pads
For stretching, scratching and natural claw care.

Tunnels and hideaway toys
For hiding, exploring and playful movement.

Balls, soft toys and chase toys
For batting, chasing and independent play.

Climbing and enrichment items
For movement, height, confidence and stimulation.

Have toys to donate?

If you have new or good-quality cat toys, scratchers, tunnels or enrichment items you would like to donate, please contact us first so we can confirm they are safe and suitable.

Because building needs change depending on the stage of the sanctuary, donations towards materials allows us to purchase what is most needed at the time.

VET CARE SUPPORT

Vet care support helps cover the care the cats need to stay healthy, comfortable and protected.

This may include checkups, vaccinations, dental care, medication, flea and worm treatment, parasite protection, testing, urgent treatment, and unexpected vet visits when something changes.

Because every cat’s needs are different, vet care donations allow us to use funds where they are most needed at the time.

Some needs can be planned for. Others happen suddenly. Your support helps us respond when the cats need care.

NORTHLAND BUILDING MATERIALS DONATIONS

Tree

If you are in Northland and have leftover building materials from a project, we are grateful for good quality timber, plywood, mesh, insulation, roofing, windows, doors, fixings or other useful materials that may help us create safe, nurturing spaces for the cats.

Building Materials

Please contact us first before dropping anything off, so we can make sure the materials are suitable, safe and able to be used.

We are unable to accept damaged, rotten, unsafe or heavily treated materials.

Not Sure What To Choose?

If you are not sure what would be most useful, you are welcome to make a donation and we will put it toward the area of greatest need.

That may be food, litter, bedding, flea and worm treatment, vet care, cleaning supplies, or materials to help us keep building safe and comfortable spaces for the cats.
